Car rental at the Stena Line terminal – CarsProject
We rent out cars by the day, week and month. Pick-up at our head office in Gdynia or at the default pick-up point at the Stena Line ferry terminal, ul. Polska 4 in Gdynia.
You can take a rental car on the ferry to Sweden, but only with our prior written consent. Years of experience have taught us which documents are needed, and we prepare them before handing over the car so that there are no unanswered questions at check-in. All you need to do is tell us your destination when you book.
Stena Line ferries sail from the terminal on ul. Polska to Karlskrona in Sweden. Swedes come here to explore Pomerania, as do Poles working in Scandinavia who return home without their own car. People travelling to Sweden for a holiday or for work also sail from here. The terminal stands on the Nabrzeże Polskie quay, close to the centre of Gdynia and with good links to the Tricity bypass.

Pick-up and delivery
Car pick-up at the Stena Line terminal or at our head office
The best option is to pick up the car at our head office in Gdynia. The default pick-up point at the Stena Line terminal can be selected in the online booking, and delivery to it is charged according to the price list in the booking.
Delivery to another address is arranged by phone. We quote the fee straight away; it depends on the rental period, and for longer rentals we may even deliver the car free of charge. We confirm the pick-up time by phone after you submit your booking.
The point is at the Public Ferry Terminal, ul. Polska 4, in the port near the Emigration Museum. From the port you drive towards the centre of Gdynia or along the port roads to the Tricity bypass.
Our head office at ul. Krzywoustego 4 is in the same city, about 10 minutes’ drive from the terminal.

Short-term car rental at the Stena Line terminal
A few days after you come off the ferry, for a family visit or sightseeing in the Tricity, as well as a car for a trip to Sweden. Pick-up at the terminal or in Gdynia at ul. Krzywoustego. The daily rate depends on the rental length tier, from one day to 30 days.
Long-term car rental at the Stena Line terminal
A month or longer at a fixed monthly rate, with OC and AC insurance included. For people who come back from Scandinavia for a longer stay and need a car before they buy their own.

How much does it cost to rent a car at the Stena Line terminal?
Car rental at the Stena Line terminal starts from 80 PLN per day for rentals of 31 days or more, and this rate is negotiable. Shorter rentals cost more per day. The rates for every model are in the price list on this page.
Where do I pick up the car at the Stena Line terminal?
The default pick-up point is at the Stena Line ferry terminal in Gdynia, ul. Polska 4, and you choose it from the list in the online booking. Delivery to this point carries a surcharge according to the price list in the booking, so the best value is to collect the car at our head office at ul. Krzywoustego 4. We confirm the handover time by phone.
Can you deliver the car to another address in Gdynia?
Yes, after you get in touch by phone. We quote the delivery rate straight away, and for longer rentals we deliver the car even free of charge.
How do I get from the ferry terminal to the head office?
It is about 4 km, roughly 10 minutes by car. The terminal and the head office are both in Gdynia, and city buses run from the terminal to Gdynia Główna station.
Can I take the rental car on the ferry to Sweden?
Yes, with our prior written consent for travel abroad. Please tell us your destination when you book so that we can prepare the documents before handing over the car.
How much is the deposit and when do I get it back?
The deposit is 1,000 PLN for most cars, 2,000 PLN for the VW Tiguan and 4,000 PLN for the VW Touareg and the BMW X3 M40i. For drivers under 25 it may be twice as high. It can be paid by card, bank transfer or in cash; a deposit paid by card or transfer is refunded within 7 days of returning the car.
